International Journal of Occupational Hygiene (IJOH)
International Journal of Occupational Hygiene (IJOH) is a biannually Journal published jointly by Iranian Occupational Health Association (IOHA) and tehran university of medical sciences(tums).
Aims and Scope
This Journal covers multidisciplinary researches concerning factors influencing quality of life in any environment and workplaces. IJOH publishes original research, field and case reports, review articles, short communications and letters to the Editor NOT previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere including national and international Journals.
Instruction to authors
1. Submission of manuscript
Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts on-line through the website of http://www.IJOH.tums.ac.ir. The manuscript submitted for publication should be typed on one side of the A4 paper, with a font of Times New Roman, size 12, double spaced with a margin of 2.5 cm on for left and right sides and 3 cm for top and bottom sides. The pages should be numbered in Arabic numerals format. Tables and figures should be serially numbered. Abbreviations should be fully explained at the first come and the data should be presented in SI units. No foot and end note are accepted in the text.
2. Format of the Manuscript
2.1 The manuscript should contain: Title page, abstract, introduction, material and methods, results, discussions, conclusions, acknowledgment, and references.
2.2 Title page includes: title, author(s) full name, affiliation(s) (in italic), full address for corresponding author, including telephone number, fax number, and email address.
2.3 Abstract should contain a brief description of the background, purpose of the study, methods, results, and conclusion. The length of abstract should contain maximum 250 words (spaces) followed by a maximum 8 keywords (including multiple words), describing the backbone of the manuscript subject based on Mesh. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations.
2.4 Introduction should clearly explain the background, necessities, and the comprehensive philosophy behind the research followed by the main aim of the study. In this section, author(s) should seriously avoid copying texts from already published papers and in case of taking some scientific viewpoints of other published papers, they should be exactly addressed.
2.5 Materials and methods should describe their specifications and source of preparation of materials and apparatus, i.e. the name, model, and place (company, city, and country) of manufacturing. Company, city, and country names should be located in parenthesis. Sequence of procedures must be explained in sufficient details to allow other researchers to reproduce the methods in a reasonable precision and accuracy. Author(s) should also refer the sources previously published and have been used in their manuscript. Chemical terms should conform to the AUPAC format.
2.6 Results should be presented as text, tables, and figures without any comment. Graphs can be used as an alternative to tables. Data should not be repeated (duplicated) in tables, graphs, and figures. Avoid explaining the tables and figures more than enough in the text. All tables should be drowning as two rows without any borderline for the column. The first row is for heading and should be bold and the second row is for the data without considering how many data lines are located in this row. It is worth mentioning that, any extra files of tables, figures, graphs, ...(such as excel) already located in the text should be submitted separately as attachment(s)
2.7 Discussion should interpret clearly results obtained from the study, regarding aim, problems, and the introduction presented in the manuscript. It is very important that, this section should NOT repeat the results. In discussion, advantages and limitations of findings should be stated and compared documentally to the other researches studies previously published. Also, this section should give a clarified and comprehensive perspective of the study in the future. New hypotheses concluded from the study followed by recommendations can be stated in this section.
2.8 Conclusion should be presented as a general outcome of the results and discussion in a short and compact paragraph.
2.9 The author(s) should acknowledge any supporter including individual, financial, and administrative organization(s) that have cooperative joint.
2.10 References should be numbered consecutively as they referred in the manuscript in the brackets in numerical order at the end of the manuscript text. Do avoid to list any references without using in the manuscript text. The references should be written based on the following models:

3. For submission of a short communication; follow the same structure as original article.
4. Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author by email. The corresponding author response, with or without corrections, should be sent (via email/website) to the Journal office within two working days. Otherwise, the last revised version of the manuscript will be published in the Journal.
5. The corresponding author will be supplied with 2 free issues.
6. Ethics: The relevant Ethics Committee/Institution review boards of the respective institutions must approve the study.
7. Informed consent of the patients participating in the study should be undertaken.
8. The sole responsibility for the whole contents of the paper (views and statements) remains only to the author(s).
9. Conflict of interest: Submitting a manuscript must be accompanied with a statement from the author(s) disclosing all financial and personnel relationship that might bias their work, if any. Besides, they are requested to evident whether impending conflict do or do not exist. A separate page should cover this proclamation and if there are further details, could be mentioned in covering letter. If an organization encompasses any financial interest in the outcome of the study, the author(s) are appealed to provide a declaration that have full access to all the data in the study and take complete responsibility for the integrity of the data and the accuracy of the data analysis.
10. Copyright: In case of accepting the manuscript as an article, authors will be asked to present copyright of the article to the Journal. This will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information under copyright laws. Therefore, accepted manuscripts become the permanent property of the Journal and may not be reproduced, in whole or part, without the written permission of the editor.
11. Peer review process: IJOH is a peer reviewed Journal. All manuscripts will be acknowledged upon presenting to the Journal office, provided that all stated requirements are met. If the subject of manuscript does not match to the scientific scope of the Journal, the corresponding author will be informed within 10 working days after submission. The manuscript is sent to two or more reviewers. The whole review process depends on receiving referees' comments and revising the manuscripts based on these comments to the author. On receipt of the revised article from the author, and after final approving by referees, the letter of acceptance is issued to the author. Authors have the right to communicate to the editor if they do not wish their manuscript to be reviewed by a particular reviewer because of potential conflicts of interest. The author can also suggest the name of possible competent reviewers but it is up to the editor to accept it.
12. Disposal of material: Once published, all copies of the manuscript, correspondence and artwork will held for 6 months before disposal.
The Editorial Board of the Journal, reserve the right to accept or reject the article at any stage and any time or delete a part of the text, tables or figures, if necessary.
